Quilt Show Entry Form

It is time to Enter Your Quilts and Creative Arts Items into the 2023 Quilt Show.
We want every FGQG member to enter an item!

All APPLICATIONS are DUE May 26, 2023
We need an application for each item you are submitting.
You may enter up to 3 quilts, a 2023 Free to Fly Challenge Quilt, and up to 3 creative arts items.
You will be asked to rank your 3 quilts as to your preference in showing them. We will hang all #1 quilts, and then as many of the remaining show quilts as possible.
Creative Arts items are wearables, purses, dolls, table runners, and any other non-quilt items.
Finally, we would like to have all of the Free to Fly Challenge quilts displayed in our show so if you were part of that challenge. Your challenge quilt does not count in the show quilt limit of 3 quilts. It is a separate category; however, use this same entry form your challenge quilt.
You will receive a confirmation later in June for those quilts or items we are able to hang in the show.
Remember that each of your quilts, or creative arts items, or challenge quilts requires a separate application.
Entries should have been completed since the last show in 2019.
You must be a Flying-Geese Quilters Guild member at time of submission and show.
All quilt entries must have a 4" sleeve (Quilt Sleeve Instructions) and a cloth label containing the name of the quilt top maker, the name of the quilter, and the quilt name.
Insurance is the sole responsibility of the Entrant. FGQG will take every precaution to take good care of your quilt, but there is no insurance provided.
A placard will be posted next to your quilt or item. The placard contains the item name, the description you provided on the application, and your membership photo.

The on-line application process is easy to use and allows you to upload the quilt photo right from your computer. We hope most of you will use the on-line application process because it is a time saver for everyone.

If you don't have a computer or are uncomfortable using the on-line process, we can help you at a guild meeting or Ellen R. can take your information over the phone.

Please consider having your quilt judged. This is a great way to get feedback from a professional judge. When you click I want this item to be judged; the application will ask you additional information about your item. There is a $15 fee per item for judging.

Applique: The quilt should be composed at least 50% of applique, in any technique (machine, hand, or wool, etc.)
Pieced: The quilt should be constructed by piecing, either hand or machine.
Mixed Techniques: Enter your quilt in this category if there are equal amounts of mixed techniques, i.e. piecing, applique, embroidery, painting, etc.
Modern: These include, but not limited to the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of color, improvisational piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space, and alternate grid work.
Other: Enter your quilt in this category if it includes one or more of the following construction techniques: whole cloth, crazy quilts, machine embroidery and fabric manipulation.
Miniature: Can be any technique with the maximum 12 inches per side.
Art: Quilting techniques are used to create imagery and ideas, rather than using traditional patterns.
Original Design: If your quilt is an original design without the use of any pattern. A personal photograph may be used. A picture out of a book is not considered original.

Our quilt show is a wonderful opportunity for quilters from our guild to showcase their talents and share their passion for the art of quilting. We encourage all members to participate in any way possible, whether it be by submitting a quilt, volunteering at the event, or simply attending to show support for your fellow guild members.
